Dr. Brooke Bartell is an area native, having grown up in the west suburbs. She graduated from the University of Illinois Champaign-Urbana with both a BS in Animal Sciences and a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine. Prior to joining the Green Bay Animal Hospital team, Dr. Bartell worked at general practices in Maryland and Chicago and then spent the last 10 years in emergency medicine, most recently working at a large emergency and specialty practice in Chicago.
Dr. Bartell treats her patients as if they were her own, and takes pride in her hands-on approach to care. She always strives to provide clear options, compassion and support as she helps owners make the best possible choices they can for their furry family members.
Her special interests include education, emergency and critical care, clinical pathology (how laboratory analysis aids in diagnosis of diseases) and geriatric care. Dr. Bartell also enjoys sharing her love of Veterinary Medicine, and has been a presenter at veterinary seminars, as well as a guest on several local TV stations and the Steve Dale Show on WGN national radio, promoting pet health.
Outside of work, Dr. Bartell is very active and has many interests - including traveling, biking, stand-up paddle boarding, snowboarding, and the Theater. Her four-legged family includes a sweet senior dog, a large and lovable orange cat, and a precocious spunky orange kitten.
