Nancy Haras — Hospital Manager
Nancy, our Hospital Manager, has been a part of the Green Bay Animal Hospital family since 1980. She worked as a medical, dental and surgical technician for six years. In 1986 Nancy went part time to raise her family.
She resides in the Northwest suburbs with her husband, three children, and their pets – an Italian Greyhound, Gianna, and two cats, Rocky and Chingy.
Barbara Haljun — Client Care Specialist
Born in the Midwest, raised in California, Barbara returned to her roots after graduating from the University of Colorado and marrying her childhood sweetheart, Bill. (Bill is the gentleman with the patchwork pants who brings her a latte to work every morning.) They raised all of their children in Kenilworth and were Green Bay Animal Hospital clients, too. For 20 years Barbara worked as an independent contractor for the University of the South School of Theology, training participants as mentors and facilitators. She joined our team in 2004.
Today, Barbara and Bill live in Winnetka with their dogs, Wally and O. Henry. When not working, Barbara enjoys gardening, designing and leading inter-generational discussion groups, as well as spending time with her seven grandchildren.
Diane Drewry — Client Care Specialist
Diane joined the front desk staff at Green Bay Animal Hospital in 1999. Residents of Kenilworth, Diane’s family has been clients at Green Bay since the hospital opened in 1972. Diane met her husband, Steve, at the University of Kansas and they lived in Connecticut, Wisconsin and Indiana before settling in Wilmette.
Diane and Steve have three grown children, two dogs (Kadie and Betsy), and two cats (Homer and Mimi).
Gina Bennett — Client Care Specialist
Gina has been at Green Bay Animal Hospital since 1989. She has worked for a very long time as a veterinary technician, however now almost exclusively works at the front desk. Along with being a seasoned member of the Green Bay Team, she also has a full house at home with four children and lots of pets.
Her dogs, both Doberman Pinchers, Harley and Ella, get along well with the cats, Tebow, Boo, and Miya.
Megan Briggs — Client Care Specialist
Megan is a client care specialist at Green Bay Animal Hospital.
Alma Chavez, CVT — Veterinary Technician
Alma is a certified veterinary technician (CVT) at Green Bay Animal Hospital.
Mia Irizarry, CVT — Veterinary Technician
Mia joined the Green Bay Animal Hospital team in June 2016. She came to us after being in Chicago for a year. Mia graduated in 2014 from Fox College with an Associate degree in Veterinary Technology.
Mia lives in Chicago with her lovely cats, Baby and Kovu, and her dog, Toby. She is also currently fostering an adorable calico kitten from Evanston Animal Shelter! In her free time, Mia likes to perfect her Ukulele skills, write and recite poetry, watch Netflix and chill.
Rachael Pradas, CVT — Veterinary Technician
Rachael came to Green Bay Animal Hospital early in 2010, after having worked in Chicago since 2003. She graduated from the University of Illinois with a BA degree in Rhetoric (English) and passed the Veterinary Technician National Examination (VTNE) in 2008. She grew up in Chicago and currently lives there with her husband Jordi. She loves to work with all different kinds of small animals including dogs, cats, and even birds! She also manages social media for the hospital.
Rachael's menagerie of pets includes three mixed breed dogs (Lilli, Bence and Titi) and a cat named Diggler. When not working, she enjoys reading, bicycling, jogging with her dog, Bence, and spending time with her husband and their son.
Rebecca Jacobi, CVT — Veterinary Technician
Rebecca started working at Green Bay Animal Hospital in October 2014 with an externship from Fox College. In April 2014, she took and passed her national board exam and officially became a certified veterinary technician (CVT). She was such a wonderful addition to the Green Bay Team that, in January 2015, she became an offical employee!
Rebecca has a special interest in canine behavior and she loves, loves, and loves all Boxers. She lives in Chicago with her husband, daughter, and their dogs – Monty and Sumya (Boxers) and Patton (Jack Russell Terrier).
Eric Nelson — Veterinary Technician
Eric joined the Green Bay Animal Hospital team in 2008. Prior to that, he studied the Classics at New York University (NYU) and then worked for several years at the pet store on Green Bay Road.
In addition to his responsibilities as a veterinary technician, Eric handles information technologies for the hospital. He lives in Evanston, Illinois. He has two cats named Duncan and Opie.
Maggie Shenton — Veterinary Technician
Maggie grew up in Wilmette, Illinois and attended the College of Wooster, majoring in Biology. She joined the Green Bay Animal Hospital staff in 1993.
Her duties include assisting in surgery, lab work and chemotherapy treatments.
Ariel Ferri — Veterinary Technician
Ariel came to work for Green Bay Animal Hospital in July 2014. She graduated from the University of Minnesota in May of 2014 with a Bachelor's degree in Animal Science with a pre-veterinary emphasis. Her ultimate goal is veterinary school and to become a cardiologist.
Outside of work, Ariel enjoys yoga, swimming, singing, and just hanging out with family and friends. She currently lives with her parents in Deerfield where they have two dogs (Shai, a Labrador Retriever, and Samson, a Treeing Walker Coonhound) and three cats (Simba, Pickles, and Zorro).
Jen Johnston — Veterinary Technician
Jen came to Green Bay Animal Hospital in April 2015. She attended Carthage College and graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Social Work in 2013. Before joining our team, Jen, who excels at multitasking, was a receptionist and technician at a veterinary clinic in Arlington Heights. We are glad she has brought her skills here!
She lives in Arlington Heights with her parents, her three brothers, and their King Charles Cavalier, Rocky. In her free time, Jen likes to go swimming and running in between baking and napping (meow).
William (Billy) McLaughlin — Veterinary Technician
Billy studied Veterinary Technology at Fox College and graduated in 2014. He came to Green Bay Animal Hospital in November of 2015 after working in Vernon Hills for a year. He lives in Gurnee with his husband (newlyweds!) and their menagerie of pets, including: two dogs, Dunder and Gambit; four cats, Armani, Huey, Downey, and Miffy; and a turtle named Shelby.
In his free time, Billy enjoys dancing, snowboarding, and watching anything on television, but especially reality TV.
Christine Lundh — Veterinary Technician
Christine grew up in Skokie, Illinois and attended Carroll College, majoring in Psychology. She joined the Green Bay Animal Hospital team in 2004.
Christine and her husband reside in Skokie with their pets: a dog, Ally, and three cats, Mannix, Isabella, and Zoe.
Daria Lahn — Technician Assistant
Daria joined Green Bay Animal Hospital in 2008 as a technician assistant. Prior to joining the practice, she worked as an activity director in a residential nursing facility and as a pet groomer on the north shore. Daria received a BA degree in Psychology from De Paul University in 2003.
She resides in Evanston, Illinois with her husband and their two daughters.
Kirsten Beitzel — Technician Assistant
Kirsten is a technician assistant at Green Bay Animal Hospital.
